HANDICAPS

Players are encouraged to join the Society of Hickory Golfers and to establish a hickory handicap.  If a player does not have a hickory handicap, his or her regular handicap will be used without adjustment according to Society of Hickory Golfers guidelines.

Returning past Champions, who have not previously received a Vardon Jacket, will receive their jacket at the Sunday informal cookout.

Awards presentation and informal cookout for Swift Trophy Matches will take place after the round at Rooster Bar & Grill Pavilion at Squaw Valley Golf Course.

2018  Robin Burke (of Champions Golf Club in Houston, TX.  Member of the Texas Golf Hall of Fame, Captain of the 2016 United States Curtis Cup Team, and key player in managing the 2020 United States Women's Open Championship.)

2019  Kathy Whitworth (the most successful woman golfer in history!!!)  Kathy is the fifth member of the Texas Golf Hall of Fame to serve as our guest speaker.

​

2022  Chuck Cook (internationally recognized golf teacher and member of the Texas Golf Hall of Fame.)

​

2023 Barbara Puett the beloved and acclaimed leader in Austin, Texas golf instruction.  She was a close personal friend and student of the late Harvey Penick and has personally instructed thousands of Austin (male and female, high- and low-handicap) golfers over a distinguished multi-decade career. She has been a close friend and advisor to Hall-of-Fame players like Kathy Whitworth, Tom Kite and Ben Crenshaw.

​​

2024 Tom Kite World Golf Hall of Fame Inductee in 2004 and U.S, Open Champion in 1992, put on an excellent short game clinic for all participants.​
